December starts in MI

We started December in East Lansing, MI at MI State University.  We have never gone to these shows before but they were pretty nice.

Yoda showed great on Saturday but didn't get anything.  Leslie pulled him on Sundays because he conflicted with the border collies.  He didn't much care he just annoyed me all day.  HA!

Henry picked up a select for 2pts.  Izzy didn't bring by any ribbons so she is still needing those 6gch points to medallion!

Marty won his class the one day he was entered and BoKay picked up a select bitch worth 3pts.

Cayenne started with us this weekend and did amazing!!!!  She was 2nd in open and reserve which was a major reserve on Saturday and then won the open class on Sunday!  Good girl Cayenne.

We are off to our last two sets of shows this weekend for a loooonnng trip to FL!  We will be making a pit stop in NC first though.

Cross all your fingers and toes and those doggy paws for us too!

Thanksgiving

We celebrated Thanksgiving and slept real good and then headed off to Tallmadge, OH for the weekend.  The weather was great until about an hour after getting there and then it was super cold and windy with a little snow.  It has been much worse in Tallmadge though.

Izzy picked up a select and BOS for 8 more GCH points she is now 6 points away from her medallion!  Good girl little Izzy!

Henry picked up 2 selects for 1 pt each!

Bokay was just like Henry getting 2 selects for 1pt each.

Marty won RWD on Saturday and WD/BOW for 1pt bringing him to a total of 8 points with one major!  Not bad at all since he really hasn't shown since July.  He is looking good!

Yoda showed on Saturday but wasn't up to par so Mom and Dad pulled him on Sunday.  Lets hope this weekend goes better for him.

We brought this real cute dog home named Cayenne.  All of us boys love her!  We will see how she does the next couple weeks in the ring.

Well, gotta go we are heading to MI soon.

Nascar Country!

We went to Nascar Country this past weekend in Concord, NC!

We had a very good weekend.

Matty picked up 1 select worth 3pts!

Izzy picked up 1 BOS 1 HUGE HUGE BOB and 1 SELECT for 14 gch pts!  Way to go lil Izzy!

Yoda picked up 2 BOB's and 1 BOS for 8 GCH pts!

We showed some goldens on Sunday and Marty showed great and won his class and Finn (a ringside pickup owned by Michelle Loy) picked up his first major!  Go Finn!

Chris showed Danny the sheltie owned by Debe Lilly on Sunday while they didn't get anything it was nice to see them together.  Watch for more from Danny in 2013.

Drogba even made an appearance at the match and won the sporting group.  He will be back in the ring next year!

Sadly our friend Bert Halsey collapsed in the Rottweiler ring Sunday afternoon.  It was very scary as he was rushed to the hospital and we didn't know what was going to happen.  He seems to be doing better as of now but we haven't had an update in the last day.  Please pray for him!

I'm super excited to eat some Turkey for Thanksgiving tomorrow.

Hope you all have a great Thanksgiving!

BIG NEWS!!!

We have BIG NEWS!

It was confirmed yesterday that Henry is the first non blk/wht border collie to medallion!  He is the 31st border collie to receive a medallion.  We couldn't be happier about this news!

The next big news is that the Canine Chronicle stats are through October 31st and Yoda is ranked #13 breed and #17 all breed!  Thank you to all of Yoda's fans for your continued support and to the judges for recognizing such a spoiled dog. ;-)

Chris & Leslie have two ads in the Canine Chronicle this month.  Check them out here but also look for them in the CC.

November starts in Va Beach!

Well, it has taken me longer to post this blog because Mom wouldn't let me go this weekend and I had to pull all the details out of Yoda!

Grandma Cheyenne, Leslie, Yoda, and Izzy traveled the long trip to VA Beach for shows Sat-Mon.

The weekend started with Izzy picking up 1GCH point with a BOS.  Leslie said Yoda was in big doodoo after Saturday because he didn't show well at all but still managed to pick up a select dog for 2pts.

Sunday Yoda was feeling much better and won a very nice BOB for 4GCHpts and he was soooo glad Leslie was happy with him again. LOL  Izzy was awarded another BOS for 1GCHpt.  Leslie also helped out in the golden ring on Sunday showing a very nice 6-9 month class bitch bred by Patty Pace and owned by Pam Simmons.  I bet she was cute!

Then came Monday and they all felt odd showing on a Monday!  But Yoda and Izzy both won BOBs each for 1GCH pt.

Then the long trip home was okay until they met a deer walking down the interstate near Staunton, VA.  Thankfully Leslie missed it or it would have really messed her car and good trip up!

It looks like they did take a few minutes to go to the ocean though.  Check out the photo they sent to Chris & I.
VA Beach Nov 2012

I won't lie I love going to the shows but it was really nice to stay in bed all weekend with Chris even though he was cramming for a huge test.  I was relieved to hear he got an A on it!  We will be heading to NC soon for the weekend and Leslie insured me I get to go everywhere the rest of the year which is coming to an end fast.

Delaware, OH closes out October

Well, I thought I might really freeze to death!  The whole weekend was filled with rain wind and more rain!  Thankfully the dogs showed inside this weekend.

We were in Delaware, OH for the weekend of shows.  That is right outside of Columbus, OH...nice little town.

This weekend showing was Henry, Gamble (making her debut), Beamer, and Derby.  Yup you got some new names in there!  We have been working with Gamble little over a month she is still a baby just at 6 months old.  She went home after the show to grow up more but she sure had fun her first time out!  Beamer and Derby are brother and sister and live in NC.  They came up while Jan the owner was visiting her aunt.  They both showed awesome Beamer picked up a 3rd place in a nice open class and Derby showed so spectacular but didn't pick up any ribbons this trip.

Yoda got the weekend off because of judge changes and he was soooo MAD!  He is very hard to live with when he gets mad but mom finally got him calmed down with some toys.  He really can be spoiled sometimes. ;-)

The big winner of the weekend was Henry!  He won back to back BOB's to pick up 5GCH points.  Remember he needed 4 to complete his bronze medallion.  Yes guys Henry is now known as Bronze GCH Trucolorz Blue Hen Of Wimzical.  We are all super excited!!!!

Check out the candid shot Leslie got of Chris and Henry after the group Saturday.

Fall in Cumberland, MD

Yoda & Leslie winning a group 3 under Arley Hussin in Cumberland, MD October 2012

We spent a few fall days in Cumberland, MD.  Leslie and I love these shows but for some reason Chris not so much!  You always can see the beauiftul fall colors down in the valley. Yes we got caught in some rain but for the most part the weather was better than it has been for years at these shows!

Henry was awarded two selects bringing him to needing 4 singles to achieve his bronze medallion.  Yes, he is taking his good ol' time about it.

Izzy won a select and two best of opposites sadly not enough dogs showed up for her to obtain any points.  She sure is driving all the younger guys crazy because she is in heat.  Me, I don't care so much because I'm older and much more mature!

Yoda won 1 select and 2 best of breeds along with a group 3 on sunday.  These wins should move him up in the rankings.

Overall it was a nice relaxing trip!  Just what I needed.

Check back next week for results from Ohio with a few new dogs.  Hope you enjoyed Yoda's candid shot from this weekend after his group 3 under Arley Hussin.

Aliquippa, PA

Well, guys I thought I might just freeze to death this weekend!  It was cold, rainy, and windy.  I keep telling them we need to get to some inside shows.

On Saturday the weather wasn't too bad on Saturday after the rain cleared out.  Izzy won a 4pt GCH major by going select.  She has really been picking up some points lately. BeckhamOtis made his 3rd appearance in the conformation ring and won his class with Chris showing him.  They looked great!  Henry couldn't bring home any ribbons on Saturday.  Yoda won BOB at the Three Rivers Papillon Club Supported entry and then went on to win a group 4 in strong compeition.  Thank you Robert Hutton for these wins!

Then on Sunday came the cold cold cold weather with wind and then in the afternoon it started to rain.  Henry was select dog on Sunday for 1pt.  Izzy screwed herself up so no points on Sunday.  Chris showed Edge a GSD for Don and Kay Miller and they won the breed for another point!  Edge is really maturing nicely.  BeckhamOtis won his class again.  I was really impressed with how he showed...now if he would grow some more hair maybe he could go show some more!  Yoda did it again!  Winning the 2nd supported entry by Three Rivers Papillon Club and went on to a group 3 that day in the group!  Thank you Barabara Alderman and Kent Delaney for this wins!

Only problem now is Yoda has a bigger head than usual and is trying to annoy me.  Chris insured me that this weekend we will get to hang out together because Leslie and Grandma Cheyenne are going to the beach with Yoda and Henry!

I'm not ready for winter are you?!?!?!

Check out the candid shot Chris took of Yoda and Leslie this weekend.  The win photos look good too can't wait to get them!

Yoda and Leslie win both Three Rivers Supported Entries and a Group 3 & 4!!!!

September has come and gone!

Hi guys!

Sorry I haven't updated you more but we have been so busy that I haven't even had time to get to the computer.

We left off at Altoona, PA.  After that we went to Goodells, MI...yea we basically went to Canada!  It was a fun trip even though it was rainy for part of it. But we got to see alot of our golden friends!

Then it was a trip to Butler, PA. We haven't been at these shows for a few years but once the rain passed the show was great.  Yoda won a select and a awesome BOB!  Izzy picked up 6 GCH points and Marty had a blast getting back in the ring.  I keep telling him he needs to grow some hair!  The storms did come back on Saturday night and Chris & Leslie rushed and got us all back in the truck and packed everything away.  Good thing they did because the rain and wind came and the show tent got knocked down partially!

Last weekend Leslie, Yoda, and Izzy went to Millwood, VA.  They said the weather was great.  They each brought back a select worth 1pt.

I can't believe its already October!  Before we know it the year will be over! Here is to hoping October is exciting as the past few months have been.

Rainy Altoona, PA

We all headed up to Altoona, PA for the weekend.  The first day was miserably rain and even got cold in the afternoon.  I didn't appreciate it all but at least I stayed dry in Herc while Yoda, Henry, and Ronan got wet.  Chris & Leslie said it was a frog tog kind of day. ;-)

Thankfully the weather was much better on Sunday still somewhat wet and cool but the sun made it feel good.

Henry won BOB both days but sadly non of his compeition showed up.  But he brought home a messenger bag and towel for his mom and dad!  They seemed excited.

Yoda won two small BOB's but on Sunday brought home a group 4!  Thank you Paula Hartinger for this group placememnt on my brother.
Yoda and Leslie win a group 4 this weekend!

Ronan was select dog on Saturday and didn't get a ribbon on Sunday.  He was wired for sound but sure had fun showing!  Leslie says its always a pleasure to work with Steve and Ronan.

Catch us next week in Michigan when we try to bring home more points on the dogs!

Labor Day at the Horsepark

Hi!

Well, I had to get the details about the new show sight for the Lexington, KY shows from Cheyenne and Leslie.  They left me and most of the gang home with Chris while he studied for his first test.   While it was nice to stay and rest I really missed being part of the action!

Yoda winning BOB at DEKC July 2012
Thank you Judge: Marcia Feld

They went for three days since it was labor day weekend.  They said the new facility was awesome!!! Still a few things to work out but it was really nice especially especially when it started to rain.

Henry and Yoda were showing this trip.  Leslie missed showing Yoda the first day because Henry's ring time ran too close.  It was ok though Henry shined in the spotlight picking up select for 1pt and a CH defeat.  The rest of the weekend didn't go so well for Henry but lots of nice dogs in compeition in Lexington.

Yoda showed well on Sunday but didn't bring home any ribbons.  He was select dog for 1pt on Monday.  He was happy though it was a early trip home and he got some new toys.  I can't believe how much they spoil him....ok i know we all are spoiled but he maybe a little too much.  Ok yes I'm somewhat jealous of my brother!

See you guys in Altoona, PA!

We finished August in the dust bowl!

Well, the August 2012 shows are done for us!  We finished up in a dust bowl (guess better than a mud bowl) in Chagrin Falls, OH.

We only went for the weekend and it was pretty hot!

First day Yoda and Henry brought home select ribbons.  Neither one recieved any points as their wasn't enough compeition.  That was okay though we enjoyed some ice cream and relaxed.

On Sunday Yoda showed so early he got all wet!  But he brought home another BOB win!  Giving him 9 out of 12 BOB's and a total of 63 breed points for the month!  He did great!

Next week Leslie and Grandma Cheyenne will be off to the horsepark with the two boys and dad and I with the rest of the gang will be hanging at home.  Chris has his first test on Tuesday so we will be studying pharmacology during the Labor Day break.

Hope the girls have fun but don't spend too much money! ;-)

Purple & Gold in Greensboro

Yoda's August Canine Chronicle Ad
Well, now that I have rested some from the long 5 day trip Mom took us on to Greensboro, NC I will let you know what happend.

Henry showed 4 days taking Friday off to rest just a little.  He didn't have any luck until Chris showed him on Sunday (yea I think he prefers for him to show him) and won a 3pt GCH major Select!  Good Boy!  He is getting closer to that Bronze medallion.

Leslie showed this neat golden named Jack on Friday.  They didn't far to well but did give Leslie a good opportunity to give his owner a few hints of what will make him look better.  We wish them lots of luck in Raleigh in a couple weeks.

Yoda showed all five days.  The first day he was ready to go and showed AMAZING!  He went on to be awarded 1GCH and Select Dog.  The #1 Papillon All Breed System was there so he had tough compeition but I was happy that the judge came back and gave Yoda a hard look.   The rest of the way Yoda was taking home the Purple & Gold Ribbons like we knew he could!  At the end of the 5 day circuit he had 1 Select and 4 BOB's worth 12 GCH points and 34 breed points.

After dropping to #17 in last months stats this should really help him.

GO YODA GO!!!

If you can't tell I'm pretty proud of my little brother even if he gets on my nerves sometimes. ;-)

Yoda goes 4 for 5!!!

Bronze AM GCH/CAN CH Marquis The Phantom Menace "Yoda"
Yoda shows for 5 days (3 in VA and 2 in MI) and wins 4 of 5 BOB's picking up 25 points!!!!

Yea you read that right my brother did amazing.  Leslie and he left us at home with Chris (which was fun!) and showed in VA for 3 days before coming home to pick us up and head to MI for the weekend.  It was a long trip but was well worth it.

Henry and Izzy also went to MI with us and both picked up 2GCH points...Henry was lucky enough to get another BOB win.  He has sure been having a good year.

We are off this weekend as Leslie and Chris will be attending a friends wedding.  I'm just sad I don't get to go!

I'll let you know how we do in Greensboro.  Keep all your toes and fingers crossed for another good trip.

Marion, OH

I know I know I know!  I'm behind.  But man Chris & Leslie have been keeping me sooo busy I hardly have time to write this blog anymore.  Don't worry I will have a talk with them about that.

We fought the storms to go to Marion, OH.  Yoda picked up his only BOB in July and a Select.  Even though July wasn't that great for him he is still my brother and I won't let him pick on me.

Henry was BOS and Select and Izzy was Select both days...just not enough compeition for points.  We are really running into low entry numbers in Border Collies here lately.

This was the last weekend out of BoKay and she picked up a Select for 2 points.  She sure finished up showing great!  But don't worry she will be back in October and I'm looking forwards to it as I know she pushes Leslie and Chris's buttons. ;-)

Check out what Leslie did the week after Marion coming up soon!

Straw Hat Cluster, Woodstock, VA

We attended Shawnee KC the Straw Hat Cluster in Woodstock, VA this past weekend.

Yoda & Chris winning BOB at SHKC June 2012
Yoda also made the cut in the group that day!

Drogba made his last appearance in 9-12 and showed fabulous on Saturday.  Didn't come home with any wins but he really has been showing better these past few weeks.  Chris pulled him on Sunday because of a judge change.

BoKay had a tough compeition with 4 very nice bitch specials.  She was awarded select both days.  The first day was 2 points and the second day was worth 1.

Yoda showed well both days even for it being sooo hot by the time he showed Sunday and was awarded select the first day and BOS the second.  Picking up 1 point each day.

Henry was a little unfocused on Sunday but was awarded Select and BOS this weekend for a total of 6 points. He is getting soooo close to that medallion it is in sight now!

We are all ready for a weekend off...even though Leslie & Chris are busy this week and will have a busy weekend I shall sleep alot. :-D

Yesterday was my pal Jewel's 13th birthday!  We shall celebrate thats for sure.

Huntington KC

Well, we stayed close to home this weekend and did the local Huntington KC shows.  It was soooo freakin hot!  Thankfully we were inside with AC otherwise the show would probably have been canceled.

On Saturday
Henry was Select Dog for 2pts
Marty RWD
Bokay Select Bitch 1pt

Sunday
Marty BOW 1pt
Drogba RWD
Bokay Select Bitch 1pt
Henry Select 2pts
Yoda Select 1pt

We enjoyed spending sometime in the River City even with the heat.  We think Huntington KC's new location at Big Sandy Arena is really nice and they have lots of potential to grow.  They sure have some great places to eat!  YUMYUM thanks for the leftovers Chris...I won't tell Leslie ;-)

We go to VA next week and then we are off...FINALLY!  I shall sleep in bed all weekend :-D

Ending of June Starting July

We ended June and started July in Vandergrift, PA.  It was cool the first day and super hot the 2nd day.

Yoda came home with 2 selects.
Matty 1 Select 1 BOB
Bokay 2 BOS's

We lost power at home Friday before leaving during a vicious storm.  Fought to find gas and Chris and Leslie kept us all cool by running a generator when we got back.  Thankfully our power came back on Tuesday.  We fought to keep power during the storms of the week.

It was a rough time and we are all still tired from it!

June was a great month for my brother Yoda he picked up some nice points and we are hoping July will be good as well.

Henry started the month strong and ended strong as well picking up 3 BOB's 1 BOS and 1 Select.

Marty picked up 2 points.

June sure was hot but the dogs were hot too! Can't believe we are half we through the year.

Waynesville & Waynesburg

Well, I missed giving ou all the details from Waynesville, NC so I will let you know what happend in the 2 days there and the 4 days in Waynesburg.

We started the Waynesville trip off crazy on Saturday.  Apparently Izzy got flustered and decided to rip the end of her tail out!!!  Yikes!  So she won't be shown for awhile.  Hopefully when she comes back out she will be going for her medallion.

Henry was Select Dog on Saturday under Paula Hartinger for 2 points.  He didn't pick up anymore points on Sunday but really showed well.

Yoda won the breed on Saturday under Roger Hartinger and was Select the next day under Paula.  So all in all he did very well.

We showed Marty on Saturday and he won his class.  Then on Sunday it was Drogbas turn and he won his class.  Hopefully the boys will pick a few more single points up before they go away for a few months.

Chris and the gang and I left late Wed. to head to Waynesburg, PA...short tirp for us but it was a long and fairly hot 4 days.  Not as hot on the weekend as the first two day but it was pretty darn warm.

Yoda was the only one to show on Thursday and he was select.  On Friday and Saturday he picked up two nice BOB's and Sunday he was Select Dog again. He picked up a total of 6 GCH points this weekend and has a total of 4 BOB's for the month!

Henry showed Friday and Satruday and won both BOB's!  He picked up a total of 4 GCH points in the two days.  Good job Henry!

On the weekend the goldens got to show.  On Saturday BO made an apperance for Sweeps and Regular classes.  He was 2nd in sweeps and 4th in regular classes.  Leslie was proud of how he showed but knows he needs some coat.  Maybe this fall when the other guys are taking a break he can show some.

BoKay was sooooo BAD on Saturday under breeder judge Ken Schlecht.  But he still gave her BOB!  This win finishes her GCH.  Chris is glad they don't have to be chasing a major for her.  She will go home in a few weeks and then we will venture to FL with her this winter.  On Sunday she was Select Bitch.

On Sunday the silly cousins that think they are brothers came out to play.  Leslie showed both Marty and Drogba.  It was the first time Leslie had taken Drogba in the ring for his actual class.  They both showed well but Marty ended up taking WD for 2 points.  At 10 months old he now has 6 points with 1 major!  The prince did well. ;-)

Thankfully it was a short trip home.  We were all so very tired that Yoda and I just passed out.

Herc is getting some work done but will be back for our next trip to PA this weekend.  3 more weekends and Leslie says we get a week off.  WOOHOO!

Here is the latest win photo for Yoda.  Enjoy!

May wrap up!

Oh my goodness where has time gone!  I have been awful about posting on here but we have been everywhere!

I let you know how Eaton went the first weekend in May but now I will tell you about the other shows we did.

Yoda is currently the #15 Papillon in the US!
CC Breed Stats 4/30/2012

We went to Bucryus, OH the 2nd weekend in May and Yoda won a very nice BOB over a top 10 papillon.  On Sunday he was select for 1pt.

Matty went a long for the ride and was select dog on Saturday but no points available.  On Sunday Henry was select dog for no points.  Both showed great and it was nice to have Matty back out!

We were off for the 3rd weekend.  Yea can you believe it???  I sure couldn't! ;-)

Chris and I with some dogs went to Marietta, OH for 3 days of shows and Leslie, Yoda, and Henry went to Manassas, VA for 2 days of showing.

Marietta was busy with lots of dogs but thankfully Tyler was able to help!
We started showing CH O'quince Picking Wildflowers "BoKay" again.  She already had 4GCH points after we showed her in Feb. during this trip she picked up 7GCH points.  She won BOB one day and sure had fun.

Drummer showed on Friday and was RWD behind his half brother at the specialty.

Izzy was BOB all three days but didn't have any luck in the group ring.

Chris picked up a puppy bitch and she needed some experience but did seem to enjoy herself for the most part.

Leslie won select with Yoda and Henry both days.  Each for 1 point.  She said the enjoyed spending time with family while over there.

We ended the month doing a crazy 5 days for Memorial day in Hamilton, OH.  The weather was so nice the first two days that I got to stay outside all day...I sure liked that!  But after that it got blazing hot in the mid 90's!  I don't think I have drank that much water in a very long time.

The first day was the central regional for goldens.

Marty won his sweeps and regular class and Drogba was 2nd in both of his behind Marty.

Drummer showed great but ended up 4th!  Drummer has now gone home to try his luck at becoming a daddy.

Leslie showed Marty's half sister dolly.  They won a very nice 9-12 class and went on to win RWB!

Then we had 4 days of all breed shows.
BoKay was Select Bitch Sat., Sun., and Monday for 2 points each day.
Izzy was BOB on Friday for 2pts and BOS on Saturday for 1pt
Henry was Select dog on Sunday for 3pts
Yoda won BOB/Grp4 on Friday and BOB/Grp3 on Monday....he had a fantastic weekend and yes folks Leslie finally put the placements on him!
Faith worked hard for 3 days but came home with only one ribbon.

It was nice to be able to spend more than two days at a show site and just relax some.  Everyone got to go on nightly walks and just RELAX!

It did feel good to get home and sleep in our own bed even if it was just for a few days.

Wrap up of points the end of May
Yoda 91 GCH points
Izzy 50GCH points
Henry 61 GCH points
Matty 56 GCH points
Drummer 10 points
BoKay 17 GCH points 1 major
Faith 7 points

Ft. St. Clair KC, Eaton, OH

Ronan picking up a major in PA April 2012
We went to the small town of Eaton, OH this past weekend and it was cold and rainy the first day and beautiful the second day.

Along for the ride was Faith, Henry, Drummer,Sultry, and Yoda.  We picked Ronan up a the show!

Faith won her class both days but didn't pick up a major.  It was nice to see some great dogs though!

Henry was select dog both days and picked up a point the first day but not enough dogs the 2nd day for any points.

Drummer was RWD on Saturday and WD/BOW on Sunday for a point!  Chris & Drummer looked great.

Sultry was only shown on Saturday before she went home with her mom.  She showed great but didn't win any ribbons.

Drogba winning Best Of Opp Sweeps at PVGRC 4/13/12

Yoda was select dog both day for 2 points each day!  Soon Yoda might have a medallion.

Ronan was select dog on Saturday for 1pt and didn't win anything on Sunday.  The cool weather sure made Ronan crazy but he is a cool dog.

Chris & Leslie told me about this cool pig sale they saw at the show too!  It happend Saturday evening in a building near where they were camping.  The highest price pg of the night went for $850.00. It was very neat at these kids were getting ready to show these pigs at the OH State Fair this summer!  Its neat when you can see other things at the shows.

One more weekend of shows and then we are off for a weekend!  Don't tell Chris & Leslie but I'm ready for extra bed time. ;-)

I'll let you know what happens in Bucyrus next week....all I know is I hope the weather is better this year than the last time I went!

Hope you enjoy some photos from recent wins!

Dog Shows & Soccer

Columbus Crew Stadium
It was a cold, windy, and rainy weekend in Columbus, OH.  It made for a great weekend of shows and Chris & Leslie went to a Columbus Crew Soccer Game which Chris has always wanted to do!
Saturday was filled with two golden specialties.  We started a new dog this weekend, Drummer.  He is known as Gangway's Making Noise At Kelore and he won big!!!  He was WD at both specialties picking up valuable single points towards his Championship.  At the first specialty Marty won the 6-9 class and Drogba was 2nd behind him.  Then in the 2nd specialty Drogba was RWD!  Chris and Leslie were really excited about this coming from 6-9 class with lots of nice dogs.

Then Sunday we picked up the all breed dogs.  Henry was Select Dog for 1pt and Izzy was BOS for 1pt.  Yoda showed great but didn't get anything.  Faith was RWB...we are hoping she will break out soon and single out. Drummer was 3rd in open.  Marty was 1st/BOBpuppy/Puppy grp2.

The puppies will have a few weeks off as Chris & Leslie focus on the client dogs.  This is Sultry's last weekend with us but it has been great getting to know her!  We are off to almost Indiana this weekend....we will be 13 miles from the Indiana border.  Lets hope this weekend is as good as the past few have been.

MD to PA and a Duck comes home to WV!

What we brought home from PVGRC!
Well, we had a busy three day trip to Frederick, MD and then on up to Harrisburg, PA last week.

We started in Frederick, MD at the first day of the Potomac Valey GRC.  The day started off bright with Drogba winning Best Of Opposite in Sweepstakes.  Drogba's now known as Labradorite's Shoots N Scores, BOSS!!!!  YAY!

Then started the regular classes.  Marty won his 6-9 class.  Drogba was 2nd in bred by (not bad for a baby).  Marty then went back in and won WD for his first 3 point major!!!  Sultry had a fun day in the ring but didn't get anything.

We are very excited about Marty winning his first major at a specialty and under breeder judge Rhonda Hovan.  For this win he won a fancy duck!  This hanmade duck is the biggest Leslie has won so far.  She won Best Junior at PVGRC a couple times but her duck was much smaller.

We then headed 75 miles North to Harrisburg, PA.

Yoda showed well both days but didn't come home with any ribbons. :(  I told him he needed to pick it up!

Breah showed great and won her class both days but has decided to shed all of her coat out so it will probably be a few months before she hits the ring again but she is going to come for a few rides.

Faith won her class both days and picked up a nice reserve on Sunday.  That springer ring is tough!

Henry was Select Dog both days and the first day picked up 2 GCH points and on Sunday picked up 1 GCH points.

Izzy was BOS the first day for 2 GCH points and Select Bitch on Sunday for 3 GCH points.

The border collies are moving up on the GCH points and hope to have a mediallion the next couple of months.

We picked the goldens back up on Sunday and while Drogba was acting like he knew what he was doing he was 2nd place again.  Marty was reserve and Leslie was very impressed with how he showed for Chris...she said he looked amazing!

We will spend the next few weeks in Ohio showing.  Look for a new dog and some more news to come from the road!

Marty picking up his first point!

Ginny becomes a CH!

Well, we headed south to Charlotte, NC.  It has been a few years since we have done this show but we still really like the nice little show it is.  Grandma Shaffer went with us this weekend and we sure had fun with her along!

Yoda winning BOB during the Tarheel Circuit March 2012
Thank you Judge: Mrs. Helen Winski Stein

On Saturday we started early as we had dogs at 9, 10, and 10.  First up were Yoda and Ginny.  Ginny went WB/BOS for 1 point leaving her needing 2 singles before going home on 4/15/12.  Yoda won BOB for a 3pt GCH major and picked up 8 breed points.
Then Leslie showed Matty-yes it has been a month or so since Matty has made an appearance but he won BOB for 2GCH points too bad most of the border collie entry was absent.
Then to Goldens (yes we were moving quickly through everything).  Marty picked up his first Championship point by going WD/BOBpuppy/Puppy Grp 3.  Thank you Bettyann Hale for having the patience with Marty and Chris as they were having some issue. ;-)  Leslie said she wouldn't let him show Marty every again.  Leslie won RWB with Sultry and Alibi won her class.  Sultry sure is showing nice...I think she will win soon!
Then came groups and Matty and Yoda didn't get anything but Marty did pick up a puppy group 3 and showed better!

Then came Sunday.  Another early day!  We showed at 8,9, and 10.
Matty started the day picking up 2 more GCH points with another BOB. Then came the goldens.  Marty took the day off.  The girls showed up but it was the same result as on Saturday.
Then came papillons.  Yoda was BOS for 1 GCH point because Ginny was WB/BOW/BOB for the 2 single points she needed to finish her Championship.  Chris showed Ginny to all 6 points (including a 3pt major).  I'm proud of my dad even though Yoda is still upset with him!  Congrats to Tracy Burdick on her newest Champion; CH Denzel Sheer Imagination "Ginny".
Nothing in groups for Matty or Ginny but they sure did have fun.

Look for us in MD and PA this weekend...we sure are staying busy.  I'm gonna ask Leslie when we get a break!

Point Count

Matty 54 GCH points

Ginny 15 points with both majors NEW CHAMPION!

Yoda 98 breed points 78 GCH points

Henry 51 GCH points

Izzy 42 GCH points

Drogba 1 CH pt

Marty 1 CH pt

Henry beats his Dad!

Well, I'm ready to head South for the weekend but I thought I would update you on what happend last weekend.

Overall the weekend wasn't that enjoyable but we did come home with some ribbons.

Ginny was RWB the first day and won her class the 2nd day.   This weekend is Ginny's last weekend with us so lets hope she can go out winning!

Yoda was Select Dog both days but the entry was so small he didn't pick up any points. :(

The goldens showed really well and the results were the same both days.  Marty was 1st and Drogba was 2nd.  The judge on Sat. said he really liked both of them.  Sultry made her first true appearance in the show ring Saturday and showed really well but didn't come home with any ribbons.  We are just so very proud of how she is showing.  Leslie ended up having a ring side pick up both days; Ronan!  Leslie and Ronan have been successful before and they were again winning select dog both days for 3pt GCH majors.

Henry did awesome on Saturday!  Carolyn Herbel chose him for BOB for 5GCH points over a few specials including his top ranked dad Storm.  We were all excited as Storm is a lovely representation of a Border Collie and truly means alot to beat a dog like that.  Henry even went on to make the cut in group!  Sunday didn't go as well for Henry but thats ok you will take the good and the bad.

Henry winning a GCH major in Indianapolis, IN Feb. 2012

The next few weeks we are going to have some golden specialties and maybe a few new dogs!  Keep up to date with what is happening with me and my friends!

This weekend I'm looking forward to having fun with Chris, Leslie, and grandma Cheyenne in the south!  The schedule looks busy but as always we will get through it.

Also congrats goes out to Jean and Bobby Cline on finishing Hogan from 12-18 going WD/BOW/BOS for a 5pt major at PA Standard Schanuzer Club.  On Sunday as a move up special Hogan won a 4pt GCH major by going Select Dog.   YAY!

Also Congrats to BeckhamOtis on finishing his BN title and getting a perfect score of 200!

YODA WINS BIG AT THE TARHEEL CIRCUIT!!!!

Yoda resting up for another big day of showing!

We went to Raleigh, NC for the last two days of the Tarheel circuit.  It was loads of fun...minus the rain the weather was great.

We started Saturday off pretty early with the Border Collies showing.  I thought Henry was going to get Select but at the last minute the judge changed her mind.  Izzy showed well but didn't get anything.  Lots of competitions down there this year in Border Collies and Chris and Leslie were happy to see some nice dogs.

Then Leslie went to goldens and showed a ring side pick up.  Her name is Alibi and I thought she was pretty cute.  She showed well for not showing since 2010.  Seemed like maybe her light bulb was flickering on Sunday and she showed even better!  She didn't get anything but we are proud of how she showed.

Papillons were late on Saturday and didn't show until 2:15.  Remember I told you that you would hear about a new dog.  Well, she is in the ring and did great! Chris showed Ginny and she won 1/WB/BOW for a 3 pt major!!! This give Ginny 12 points with both majors. The big news is Yoda won BOB over the #4 papillon in the US!  The judge had a lot of nice things to say about my brother too which was nice.  He didn't get anything in the group but these were probably the strongest toy groups we have seen for quite some time.

Chris and Leslie kept me up later in the day for a golden only match where they showed Drogba and Sultry.  Both did very well.  Drogba won his class and Sultry was 2nd.

Then came Sunday...we had our show times pretty much crunched together!

Henry was select for 1 point and Izzy was a little sluggish.

Chris and Leslie quickly moved over to the pap ring where Ginny was RWB to a major.  They were a little bummed as that would have finished Ginny but she needs 3 singles and they feel they can finish her before she goes home!  At least the big major is out of the way.

Yoda did it again!  Winning another large BOB over the #4 papillon in the US.  He gained 38 breed points and 10 GCH points this weekend.  I'm so proud of my brother!

Back to the golden ring they went but no ribbons this weekend.

We got home late but it was for sure worth it!

We will see you guys in the steel city this weekend....look for hopefully more good news!

Point Totals
Izzy 42 GCH points

Henry 46 GCH points

Yoda 74 GCH points

Ginny 12 points with both majors

Celtic Cluster

Hey Everyone! I wanted to update you what happend last week before we leave for this week.

We were at the Celtic Cluster in York, PA for three days!  Chris had been in CA all week for a reserach confrence and came back just in time to head to the show.  I sure did miss him!

The border collies started off strong on Friday each picking up select behind the #1 and #2 border collies in the US.  Henry was awarded a 5pt GCH major and Izzy was awarded a 3pt GCH major!
Sadly the judge didn't care for Yoda on this day but it was a warm up to the weekend for him.
Leslie decided they would show the golden puppies on Friday only.  Marty won his 6-9 puppy class and went on to win a major reserve!  Drogba showed in bred by for the first time and did well....he won Leslie a new step stool!  She was excited about that.

On Saturday Henry and Izzy were both select again and Henry was awarded 5pts and Izzy 4 pts!  Yoda was Select as well.  He picked up on point!

Then came Sunday...Border Collies didn't fair as well and Yoda was select again.  Yoda showed beautifully though and Chris and Leslie couldn't have been more proud of him!

Point totals right now.
Yoda 64 GCH points
Izzy 42 GCH points
Henry 45 GCH points

We are working our way to medallions baby! ;-)

Check back for more updates and soon some new dogs.  Yea I'll keep ya guessing on that one.  But hint we have a new soon to be star debuting tomorrow!

February

Chris & Drogba winning their first point the day Drogba turned 6 months old.  Judge Pat Trotter

Well, February shows have come and gone for us.  As you can see I sure haven't been keeping you guys up to date as well as I should.  Just doesn't seem like I have enough hours in the day anymore.  I promise I will try and do better come March.

We only went two places in February but both were pretty far.

We started out in Indianapolis, IN.  This is where BeckhamOtis and Marty started their show careers.  BeckhamOtis showed both days picking up a 3rd and 2nd (behind Marty) while Marty showed on Sunday only and picked up 1st place in 6-9 winning his first trophy!
The border collies sure picked up points on Saturday but didn't do so hot on Sunday.  Henry picked up a 3pt gch major by going BOS and Izzy was Select Bitch for 4pts.
Yoda brought home another huge BOB worth 29 breed points and was Select dog on Saturday picking up a total of 10 GCH points in one weekend!  WOW!  Can't believe my little brother came home with 10 points.  Nothing in group but he did get a look!

Weekend after Indianapolis we headed to West Friendship, MD.  Thankfully the weather was pretty nice.  Faith showed well and picked up 2 first placements but no points this time.
Yoda showed Saturday only and was select dog for 1pt (he had a judge change though).
Breah came back to visit the ring and showed well Saturday but did really well on Sunday picking up a major reserve!  I think she might get some points soon if she keeps showing well. ;-)
Henry won BOB on Sunday to pick up 2 more GCH points.  Izzy was BOS for 1 GCH point on Saturday and brother Matty made his first apperance in the ring on Sunday picking up select but sadly didn't get any points for his win.
Seeley was shown on Sunday he is owned/bred by Sue Rocco.  I think Leslie said he was 7 months...he sure was silly but he gained some confidence and won his class.  Leslie was pleased with how he showed and was happy that Sue was happy with him as well.
Marty showed on Saturday and picked up his first reserve.  We are very happy that he was aknowledged out of all the males there but sure hope he doesn't become a reserve king.

I'm happy to say we will have three weeks off and then we will be full stream ahead for spring time.  Business is picking up soon which really makes me happy because I love meeting the new dogs Leslie & Chris get.  Never a dull moment with my folks thats for sure!

Look for me at a show near you in March!

Charleston, SC

I asked Chris and Leslie where we were going and when they told me Charleston I got confused.  I guess they could tell because they then said the other Charleston in SC.

AM GCH/CAN CH Marquis The Phantom Menace "Yoda"

This was a very exciting weekend for us!  Chris and Leslie were starting Labradorite's Shoots N Scores "Drogba" on Sunday....hard to believe the babies turned 6 months old already!

We had to show everyone on Saturday before that couldn't happen though.  The day started with Izzy winning a 2pt Select.  Then we had a break until the afternoon and Faith went in and picked up a nice reserve.  We sure wanted some points but we will take the reserve.  Yoda came on wild for his first trip around the ring in 2012 and he came out with a BOB rosette.  Thankfully the weather was nice because we then headed outside to show the labs in the specialty with 170 labs showing.  Russet was first to go in and she showed ok and ended up 4th.  Then it was group placing Secrets turn and she won a nice 3rd place.

Russet

On Sunday we started again at 8AM with Izzy With a little less competition she won select for 1pt. Then it was Yoda's turn to see if he could do it again?!? YES HE DID!  Yoda wins back to back BOB wins.  He picked up a total fo 5 GCH points.  I sure hope Chris & Leslie can medallion him this year.  Then it was Drogba's turn to see what he could do.  Chris & Leslie sure were nervous....they wanted everything to go smooth but Leslie wanted Drogba to look just perfect with the grooming.  I told her he was stunning and if Chris didn't screw up they were sure to win.  Well, it turns out that Drogba won WD/BOW for his 1st point the day he turned 6 months old.  He sure thought he could catch the other boys in WD but judge Pat Trotter just laughed at him but gave him the point.  Looks like Drogba will have a promising future.  After a short break Faith was up and she won her class but couldn't get any other ribbons on this day.  Back outside to lab country we went (again thankfully the weather was good) today Russet won 4th place again but Secret couldn't add to her ribbon collection.  Both of them showed amazing though!

Chris & Drogba running to win their first Championship point

Then it was time to head home and what should have been a 7-8 hour trip home ended being 11 because we blew a tire.  Thankfully everyone was okay and Herc was able to be repaired.  Those are all things that happen in life.  I have been trying to catch up on sleep all week because of it but before I know it we will be off to Indianapolis next week.  Thankfully the super bowl is this week and not next!

Fredericksburg, VA

Chris & Izzy picking up her final GCH major in Winston Salem, NC Dec. 2011

Well, we will be taking it easy the first two months of the year but still doing at least two weekends a month!

Our first stop of the year was in Fredericksburg, VA.

This trip we showed Henry, Izzy, Faith, and brought Breah the akita back out!  It was great to see everyone after the New Year and to start seeing what 2012 would bring.

Right off the bat Izzy won BOS behind 2011's #2 border collie to finish her GCH!  Henry also picked up select for another point.  We were feeling good about what the afternoon would bring.  Faith showed great but didn't pick up any points this weekend...but was competing against a really nice bitch.  Breah came out of the gates crazy the first day.  She showed much better the second day but the adult competition beat her out by her still looking fairly young.  We are very pleased with how she showed though.

On Sunday Izzy ended up winning her first BOB of the year!  Henry was BOS behind her.  We are proud of the brother and sister duo picking up points their first weekend back out.

Watch over the next few weeks when we update the side menu of dogs we are showing this year.  Jonesy did retire at the end of 2011 but we will have some new faces springing up for you to see! We are already excited about what 2012 will bring!

Justy

2011

Man I have gotten way behind...I don't know where the time has gone!

Izzy picked up her final major in Winston Salem, NC in December leaving her needing one single point to finish her GCH.  Henry picked up 2 more points under judge Linda More.

Yoda picked up a few points getting a Select Dog and Best of Opposite in NC.

We then headed to Florida!

What an amazing trip we had!  We finished driving down on Monday and had a great motel so close to the show we never had to move Herc while there.  Great places to eat and some great sight seeing adventures close by.

The dogs showed amazing the whole time and we got to see lots of friends and meet some new ones.  Sadly no one came home with ribbons but they knew we were there.  Matty made the final cut in border collies on Sunday and he was the only non black and white to do so!   We are all very proud of Chris and Matty!

It was sad to leave the sunshine but we had to come back home and venture back into reality!

May 2012 be as good if not better than 2011!
