Spring is here!

I know I'm way behind but sometimes I do get preoccuiped and it has been busy around the house!

Spring is here not that it always feels like spring but it is.  Soon mom will shave me when she sees that it is going to stay warm enough for me to have less hair.  I can't wait for that becuase I'm really starting to get tired of my hair!

We spent the last two weeks of March in NC.  Danny picked up 5 points in two weekends towards his GCH putting him at 9.  Matty showed well but hasn't picked up any points yet...I feel he will be getting some soon.  Leslie showed a few goldens; Tease, ZeeZee, and Castle....all showed great and won some ribbons but no points!  They will all mature for awhile and may be back come fall.  Yoda won two BOB's for 8GCH points bringing him up to needing 3 more for his silver GCH.  Leslie also showed Russett a lab and she got a hard look for points in Concord but still needs that illusive major.

We had two weekends off and then we went to Columbus last weekend.  Danny showed great but didn't win anything.  Yoda was select dog on sunday for 1 GCH point so now he needs 2 more to go.  Leslie started showing Gamble again and she made the cut in a large 12-18 class on Saturday.  Watch for a few more appearnces from Gamble before she heads home to mature more.  Henry made an appearance and while he was really on his game there were some really nice border collies that beat him last weekend.  Which is ok he was just happy to go run around the ring. :)

Next weekend we will be in Eaton, OH and hope to watch some pig shows!  Keep those fingers and paws crossed as we have a few dogs that are close to finishing titles!

Shenandoah Valley KC

Back on the road we went this weekend to Harrisonburg, VA!  Nice place to stay, eat, and shop!

John and Tonja came to visit and it was good to see them!  The weather was great and Leslie started some new dogs.

First up was Compadre.  He won his class the first day and was 2nd on the second day.  We were just sooo proud of how he showed.  Watch for good things to come from this young lab.

Marty picked up another reserve and was 4th on Sunday.  Not too bad for his first time in open.

Tease which is a golden owned by Marta Spry & Carol Goosman had a ball on Saturday and was 3rd but come out of her rustyness on Sunday and was 2nd.

Matty picked up 2 selects but not enough dogs for points.

We are off next week and then we head to Raleigh!  Some of my most favorite shows of the year.

Westminster 2013

I know I know I'm way behind!  But Mom and Dad didn't let me go to NY and then we had quite a few weeks off but I'm back now!

Izzy, Henry, Chris, and Leslie headed for a fun filled trip to NYC for Westminster.

Lots of sights were seen and they really had fun!

Henry showed great but didn't do anything but Izzy was awarded select bitch!  This is the first year WKC has awarded selects so Izzy will go down in history as the first Border Collie to be awarded select bitch.

Izzy has now retired to become a mother.  Watch for updates this spring/summer about her upcoming nuptuals!

Off to the races!

We spent the weekend at the Richmond International Speedway and it was pretty neat!  Not every show site is as cool as this one was.

After fighting the bad weather to get there we got all setup and ready to show!

The border collies had really tough competition and even though they didn't get any ribbons they showed awesome!  Sometimes that means more than anything else.

Marty picked up his up teen dozen major reserve on Saturday and closed out his 12-18 career by winning his class!  Leslie thinks finding these last 4 singles is going to be hard. :( sure hope not!

Shirley got two 2nd places but she sure had fun doing it.  Such a pretty girl her time will come.

Yoda was the big winner of the weekend by winning 2 BOB's.  He is undefeated for Jan. and now needs 11 points to finish his Silver GCH.  Hopefully come March he can get it done.

It was also fun seeeing our friends Jean and Bobby!  We had not seen them since December and Hogan won BOB the first day! Go hogan!

This was the last prep before we leave for NYC in 2 weeks.  Don't know if we are ready but I guess we will need to be by then, lol.  After that we are going to take a short break and hit the rings strong come March.  Look for some new faces and for some old ones to return!

The starting line for 2013!

Well, guys we started the 2013 show season this past weekend in Fredericksburg, VA!

Henry and Izzy were awarded select each day izzy for a total of 6 points and Henry for a total of 5 points!  Henry was suprised to see his mom Debbie there to see him. :)

Drogba won his last 12-18 class but didn't get any points.  It was nice to see Chris and him out there though.

Marty was 3rd on Sunday....I told him he needed to do better than that if he is going to finish soon.

Yoda was only shown one day for some crazy reason and picked up his first bob of 2013 and now needs 13 points to finish his silver GCH!

Shirley (which is a new friend) showed on Saturday and won her class.  She is still trying to figure out all the dog show business but did show well.

Danny the sheltie came for his first trip with us and he was awarded select on Saturday for his first two GCH points!  He is a little rusty Chris thinks but he will come back out of it and be just fine.

It was nice seeing folks after the holidays and seeing some people we had not seen for awhile.  We even got to see the other side of the family; Geof, Lindsey, and Tonja came to visit!

We aren't rushing back to all the shows yet but we will be back in VA by the end of the month.

The end of 2012!

I know I'm way late at posting this!

But I wanted to give you a run down on the last two weeks of shows in 2012.

We headed to NC where Yoda won 1 BOB and 2 Selects, Izzy finished his bronze medallion, Bokay won a select, Cayenne showed great and got a 4th place, and Marty won his class both days but also went WD/BOW for a 3pt major bringing him to 11pts both majors!!!!

Then on to Orlando, FL we went.  Chris got to fly down but we all rode.  Im pleased to let you know that Henry and Yoda made the first cut in their breeds at the AKC Eukanuba Inviational.

Chris won us some really nice crates!

December starts in MI

We started December in East Lansing, MI at MI State University.  We have never gone to these shows before but they were pretty nice.

Yoda showed great on Saturday but didn't get anything.  Leslie pulled him on Sundays because he conflicted with the border collies.  He didn't much care he just annoyed me all day.  HA!

Henry picked up a select for 2pts.  Izzy didn't bring by any ribbons so she is still needing those 6gch points to medallion!

Marty won his class the one day he was entered and BoKay picked up a select bitch worth 3pts.

Cayenne started with us this weekend and did amazing!!!!  She was 2nd in open and reserve which was a major reserve on Saturday and then won the open class on Sunday!  Good girl Cayenne.

We are off to our last two sets of shows this weekend for a loooonnng trip to FL!  We will be making a pit stop in NC first though.

Cross all your fingers and toes and those doggy paws for us too!
